This site is dedicated to the memory of Ray.

Ray was born in Sunderland on March 20, 1928. He lived there with his family until they moved to London in 1937. In 1955 he married Dorothy, and later went on to have three daughters, Sue, Jo, and Allie. He worked in the City of London throughout his working life and enjoyed his retirement until he developed Myasthenia Gravis in 2002. His health gradually deteriorated and then in February 2009 he was eventually diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. As a result of this, Ray lost the use of his arms, hands and fingers, and developed difficulties swollowing. Although he maintained some strength in his legs, he would suffer occassional falls. He went onto contract a chest infection and was eventually admitted to Barnet Hospital on Sunday 14th February 2010. This degenerated into bronchal pneumonia and sadly he died on Tuesday 16th February 2010 at 10.39 pm. It was truly humbling to see how incredibly brave he was in dealing with his illness, and how he bore his pain and suffering with such enormous dignity. When the end came, he went peacefully surrounded by his family, who all Love and Miss him Very Much. He will Remain in our Hearts and Minds Always.
